In the business world we live in today, everything we do seems to be in competition with others. No matter if its a position, an interview, or even a task, it’s safe to say that when you want to be recognized as a leader, you need to go the extra mile. However, more often than not, people will only go the extra mile if there are eyes on them. When no one is looking, though, is the prime time to show your strength as a leader here at Campaign Development Corp.
Before we even get into why everyone wants to be a leader, we should first talk about what makes a leader in our eyes. A “leader” is defined as a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. Being trusted in this position is an honor in itself because people believe, without falter, that you will not let them down, and instead steer them into the direction of success. As a leader, you are responsible for the actions of yourself and your team, keeping the brand in line with the company, and ensuring that good work is coming out. However, leaders are not made overnight. In fact, leaders are not made in days or weeks. People can go to all of the leadership conferences they want and listen to all of the TED talks available, but being a leader comes from experience and hard trials.
As a leader, you need to experience highs and lows or be willing to experience highs and lows. These highs and lows stem back to going the extra mile when no one is watching. At Campaign Development Corp, building leaders are something we are very passionate about. In fact, we believe that everyone on our team has the potential to be a leader, or already is. Within the company, there are a variety of roles that team members hold, with the opportunity for advancement based on merit. These roles push them to strive for greatness and motivate one another.
Additionally, a leader isn’t just someone who has gone through these experiences and proclaims “I’ve already done this, here’s the answer” or worse, acts like they are above the problem at hand. A leader is someone who steers people into the direction of a solution or advises them on possible ideas or solutions, rather than handing them the answer. A leader BUILDS leaders. Leaders also do not settle for the position they are in and act above the people around them.
Lastly, a leader is someone who is willing to raise their voice. At Campaign Development Corp, we are always looking for fresh ideas and for feedback in everything we do. As a leader, you should be confident in not only voicing your opinion on matters at hand, but also motivating others to do the same! In an office where everyone is striving for greatness, a leader should be someone who encourages others to brainstorm and grow in their own shoes.
Putting in the work when no one is watching, being the mentor when someone is in need of advice, and being confident in your own voice are just some of the things we believe make a leader…and fortunately for us, we’re surrounded by dozens of them here at Campaign Development Corp.
